Elevated Cardiac Troponin Levels in Critically Ill Patients: Prevalence, Incidence, and Outcomes
These authors documented elevated levels of cardiac troponin I, a sensitive and specific marker of myocardial injury, in 198 patients in a medical-surgical intensive care unit and assessed the relationship between elevated levels and electrocardiographic findings and mortality.
